What is PE & Sports Premium Funding?

PE & Sports Premium Funding is additional funding the Government supply to primary schools to improve their provision of PE and sports.

This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture and Media and Sport to provide money that will go directly to primary schools for expenditure on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. This funding is solely for sports and PE resources within a school which they, in turn, have to use to improve their provision of PE and sport, but they have the freedom to choose how they do it.
